Booking and Quotes

How do I get a moving quote? +

You can get a free quote online through our booking system, by phone, or through an in-person or video walk-through. Online estimates take a few minutes and are based on inventory information you provide. Walk-through quotes are recommended for larger moves where access factors (parking, stair count, building rules) affect pricing.

How far in advance should I book my move? +

Book four to eight weeks in advance for most moves. Summer peak months (June through August) and end-of-month dates need six to eight weeks of lead time. Long-distance and interstate moves often need eight to ten weeks during peak relocation season. High-rise condo moves with strict elevator scheduling need additional buffer.

Do you provide free quotes? +

Yes. Quotes are free, written, and itemized with no hidden fees. We provide quotes after a real inventory walk-through (in-person or video) so the price you approve reflects the actual move.

What is the difference between a binding and non-binding estimate? +

A binding estimate locks in the price based on the inventory and services agreed during the quote. A non-binding estimate is an approximation that can adjust based on final weight or volume at delivery. We offer both options and recommend binding estimates when inventory is well-documented.

Can I book online? +

Yes. Our online booking system handles quotes, scheduling, and account management. You can choose your move date, enter origin and destination zip codes, and lock in a date without phone tag.

Pricing

How much does a move cost? +

Local moves typically run $700 to $3,000 depending on home size, access, and inventory. Long-distance moves within a single state range from $2,000 to $7,000. Interstate moves range from $2,500 to $15,000 or more depending on distance, inventory, and destination. All quotes are itemized with no hidden fees.

What factors affect moving costs? +

Costs depend on inventory size, distance, packing scope, building access (stairs, elevators, parking), specialty items, and timing. End-of-month dates and summer peak months can affect pricing because of demand. Quotes itemize crew time, truck size, materials, and any specialty handling.

Do you charge by the hour or by the move? +

Local moves are typically priced hourly with a minimum number of hours. Long-distance and interstate moves are priced by weight or volume plus distance. Specialty services (packing, storage, custom crating) are itemized separately.

Are there hidden fees I should know about? +

No. Our quotes are itemized and binding when written. Crew time, truck size, packing materials, building access fees, COI processing, parking permits, and any specialty handling are all included in the quote. The price you approve is final.

Do you require a deposit? +

Yes, a deposit is typically required to lock in your move date. The deposit applies toward the total move cost, with the balance due at delivery.

Do you offer discounts? +

Yes. We currently offer $500 OFF promotional pricing for qualifying moves. Discounts also apply to military, federal worker, and senior moves in many cases.

Packing and Materials

Do you offer packing services? +

Yes. We offer full packing, partial packing, and self-pack options. Full packing includes all materials and labor. Partial packing covers fragile items only or specific rooms. Self-pack means you handle the packing and we handle the move.

Do you provide packing materials? +

Yes. We bring boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, tape, and specialty materials for art, electronics, and high-value items. Materials are itemized in the quote so you see the cost upfront.

How do you pack fragile items? +

Fragile items are wrapped individually in packing paper or bubble wrap, then loaded in dish-pack boxes with proper cushioning. High-value art and antiques get custom crating, climate-aware materials, and condition documentation.

Can I pack my own belongings? +

Yes. Many customers choose to pack their own belongings to save on costs. We provide guidance on proper packing technique and can supply materials separately if you handle the labor.

What items can you not move? +

We cannot transport hazardous materials (paint, fuels, propane tanks, ammunition), perishable food items, plants for interstate moves (USDA restrictions), and certain firearms across state lines. We provide a full list during booking.

Move Day

What time will the movers arrive? +

Arrival windows are confirmed during booking, with typical arrivals between 8 AM and 10 AM. We schedule arrivals to avoid major traffic patterns and confirm timing the day before the move.

How long does a move take? +

Local moves typically run 4 to 8 hours depending on home size and access. Larger family home moves can run 8 to 14 hours, sometimes spanning two days for full-pack jobs. Long-distance moves involve a transit window between pickup and delivery, ranging from 1 to 14 days depending on distance.

Do I need to be present during the move? +

Yes, the homeowner or an authorized representative needs to be present at both origin and destination to direct the crew, sign paperwork, and confirm inventory. Some buildings (gated communities, condo towers) also require homeowner presence for entry.

What should I do to prepare for move day? +

Pack non-essentials early, label boxes by destination room, disassemble large furniture if not booked for that service, secure valuables and important documents to transport personally, and confirm building access details (parking, elevators, COI) with the move coordinator a few days before.

Do you move on weekends and holidays? +

Yes for weekends, with availability varying by market. Some buildings restrict weekend moves. We do not typically operate on major federal holidays, but specific dates can be confirmed during booking.

Long Distance and Interstate Moves

How does long-distance moving work? +

Long-distance moves involve packing at origin, loading the truck, transit to the destination, and unloading at delivery. Transit times vary by distance (1 to 14 days typically). We provide GPS tracking throughout transit so you always know where your belongings are.

Are you licensed for interstate moves? +

Yes. We hold federal USDOT registration (DOT Number 3203919) for interstate moves, with full DOT compliance, weight ticket documentation, and proper licensing for cross-state jobs.

How do you calculate weight on interstate moves? +

Weight is calculated by weighing the truck empty before pickup and again loaded after pickup. The difference is the weight of your belongings, which determines pricing on weight-based interstate moves. Weight tickets are provided as part of the documentation.

Can my belongings be stored during a long-distance move? +

Yes. Storage in transit holds belongings for up to 30 days while we coordinate destination delivery timing. This works for gap periods between settlement dates or staged moves.

How do you handle delays during interstate transit? +

Delays are communicated as soon as they happen. Common causes include weather, road closures, and DOT-mandated rest stops on long routes. GPS tracking lets us update destination arrival windows in real time.

Storage

Do you offer storage services? +

Yes. We offer short-term and long-term storage at climate-aware facilities. Short-term storage covers gap periods between move-out and move-in. Long-term storage covers extended holds for downsizing transitions or remote relocations.

What is storage in transit? +

Storage in transit holds belongings between pickup and final delivery for up to 30 days, perfect for moves where the destination home is not ready yet. Belongings stay loaded in our facility until delivery is scheduled.

How secure are your storage facilities? +

Our storage facilities are modernized, secure, and climate-aware. Inventory is documented at intake, monitored through storage, and verified at release.

Can I access my belongings while in storage? +

Yes, with advance scheduling. Items in active storage in transit are loaded for delivery and not typically accessible until the destination move. Long-term storage allows access by appointment.

Do you handle high-rise condo moves? +

Yes. We handle high-rise condo moves regularly, including COI submission, freight elevator scheduling, and adherence to building-specific moving day windows. Most major buildings in our service areas have our COI documentation already on file.

Do you handle senior and downsizing moves? +

Yes. Our senior moving services work at the comfortable pace these moves require, with sorting and packing assistance available. We coordinate directly with senior communities, downsizing services, and family members handling the broader transition.

Do you handle military PCS moves? +

Yes. We handle military PCS (permanent change of station) moves regularly, with proper federal-program licensing, itemized inventories, and weight ticket documentation for reimbursement programs.

Do you handle corporate relocations? +

Yes. Corporate transfer moves include reimbursement-ready paperwork, coordination with HR and relocation departments, and timing flexibility to match company-mandated windows.

Can you move pianos, safes, and other heavy items? +

Yes. Specialty items like pianos, gun safes, pool tables, and gym equipment require proper equipment and trained crews. Our specialty moving service handles items most movers will not touch.

Do you offer art and antique moving? +

Yes. Custom crating, climate-controlled transit, and condition documentation are standard for high-value art, antiques, and collectibles.

Insurance and Liability

Are you insured? +

Yes. We carry full liability insurance on every move, with documentation provided during booking.

What if something gets damaged during the move? +

Damaged items are documented at delivery and submitted as a claim through our quality assurance team. Standard valuation coverage is included in every move; full-value protection is available as an upgrade.

What is full-value protection? +

Full-value protection means damaged or lost items are repaired, replaced, or compensated at full current value. Standard valuation coverage is more limited (typically $0.60 per pound per item). We explain coverage options during booking.

Do I need additional insurance for my move? +

Standard valuation is included. Full-value protection is recommended for moves with valuable items. Some homeowners insurance policies also cover moving-related damage; check with your carrier.
